Sun blinds are frequently used in homes and offices in various different rooms. Sun blinds come in a number of different styles and are made out of various materials, from hard-wearing fabrics to wood. However, finding stylish, exciting sun blinds can be a challenge, and most sun blinds become faded and damaged with time.
Sun blinds block out glare and provide shade and privacy. Unfortunately, they also block out almost all natural light. This forces us to switch on the lights inside when the sun is still shining – an absolute waste of electricity.
One of the innovative alternatives to sun blinds is frosted window vinyl as it provides the same benefits and none of the disadvantages. In the installation we have showcased this week, you can see how frosted window vinyl has been very affectively used where there would otherwise be sun blinds or curtains. This particular image shows French doors that lead into the master bedroom in a revamped old farmhouse. The afternoon sun beats down on this side of the house and as you can see, a lot of natural light would be lost should this area be shaded by sun blinds. The owners decided on the design of this particular vinyl frosting as they wanted a ‘très chic’ look for their French doors.
In addition, unlike sun blinds, vinyl frosting decals are extremely durable and aren’t susceptible to sun damage. Top quality vinyl frosting comes with a 10-year warranty and is designed to last a lifetime.
