The windowpanes of this home have been treated with frosted vinyl decals that simulate window frames. The windows facing the garden have no frames whatsoever, but the owner wanted to give both the interior and exterior a cottage look and feel.
As shown above, these vinyl decals were custom-designed and fit with the wallpaper the client has installed inside their home.
The owner of this home wanted to create a look and feel of window frames that would correlate with their wallpaper. Furthermore, because these windows are wall-to-ceiling, they offer a good view of the garden and the owner didn’t want to detract from that. By using vinyl decals instead of installing window frames, the view is less interrupted. This is predominantly due to the fact that although the frosted vinyl decals are opaque, they still allow light through.
Instead of replacing the windowpanes, the owner decided on a far simpler solution.
In order to have window frames installed, these panes of glass would have to be removed and custom-built frames and glass panes would have to be made. This would have cost a fair amount of time and money, whereas these vinyl decals were easily installed in one afternoon.
Furthermore, the glass is in no way changed or damaged by this type of window treatment. This means that if the owner did want to remove the vinyl decals, they could do so and the glass would remain in good condition. Choosing to use vinyl decals proved the hassle-free, cost-effective and quickest way to achieve the look of window frames.
Frosted vinyl decals are easily custom designed to meet anyone’s style needs.
