This week’s featured installation showcases decorative window film used on a balcony doorway. The design was inspired by the owner’s keen ‘green thumb’ and fitted in with the variety of beautifully potted plants placed all along the balcony.
The homeowner wanted to maximise the natural lighting in her home.
The property has identical doors fitted around the first floor that lead onto this particular balcony, as the balcony wraps around the perimeter of the house. The doors are fitted with glass panes to specifically allow for natural light to stream inside and the owner didn’t want to hinder this by fitting blinds or custom-designed curtains. By choosing frosted decorative window film, the glass was not left bare and the natural light was maximised.
The glass doors needed optimum privacy as they face the bedrooms and bathroom.
The homeowner wanted privacy in this particular area of the home as the first floor is where all the bedrooms and a master bathroom are situated. With the glass doors jotted around leading onto the balcony, it was imperative that she treated the glass doors in some way to protect the privacy of her family.
As seen, this decorative window film is predominantly frosted, apart from the design itself. The frosting allows for natural light to penetrate through to the interior but is in no way transparent. Even when the lights are switched on in the evening it remains opaque.
This particular decorative window film was custom-designed by our graphic designers to meet the homeowner’s style and taste.
The owner of this house wanted a design that would suit her personal taste and her love for plants and greenery dictated this design. Choosing to use frosted decorative window film allows for a bespoke end product.
