Our featured installation this week shows just how stylish and practical frosted glass can be. This client had only two major concerns when considering the type of door installation suitable for this entryway. Firstly, the client had to take into account privacy and security, as these frosted glass doors are the front doors to the home. Secondly, the client wanted to use glass to include natural light into the entrance as it stretches a bit before opening up into the living room.
This client wanted a window treatment that not only adorned the front doors but that also gave the entryway some security and privacy.
These frosted glass doors offer optimal privacy in this entryway as the frosting is in no way transparent. To have curtains or blinds made to fit these panes of glass would be a costly affair. What’s more, because the doors are being opened and closed often, curtains or blinds swinging back and forth each time would cause a hassle. Vinyl frosting is a stylish way to achieve privacy in this area of the home.
Frosted glass doors were the best way to allow natural light to stream into the entryway.
The entryway has no other points of lighting apart from the front door and the windows above the door. The client wanted to include natural lighting in the area as without it artificial lighting would need to be used every evening. Using frosted glass doors was the best way to include natural light and the frosted vinyl decals allow for 93% of the light to penetrate the area.
These frosted glass doors have been treated with our vinyl decals.
This client owns a number of properties and is very aware of maintaining resale value. By frosting the glass panes of this front door with vinyl decals he was able to treat the glass and not incur any damage. Also, the decals can be removed as easily as they are installed, so the future purchaser of this home can place their own design element on the glass should they so wish.
To create a flow of design, the client treated the garage windows (as seen on the right-hand side of the above) with the same frosted vinyl decals.
