Job of week: Vinyl decals for a small law firm | WindowArt

The image shown above is one of the offices of a small-scale law firm that operates in a suburban area. The building was initially a home, but when the homeowners put it up for sale the owners of the law firm seized the opportunity to move their firm from their home office into these premises. This house now operates as a business entity and the owners wanted décor that would indicate a professional set-up.

For a professional feel, the owners chose a minimalist interior design and vinyl decals were an excellent fit for the style.

The interior décor is minimalist with clean lines and functional items filling the space. To match this type of design the owners decided to forgo any curtains or blinds and instead use vinyl decals as their window coverings. The vinyl decals fit in easily with the sophisticated, functional style of the house and require hardly any upkeep apart from the occasional wipe with a cloth.

With privacy being of the utmost importance, frosted vinyl decals were the best option.

Considering the nature of the business conducted on these premises, privacy is of the utmost importance. All the outward-facing windows and the glass panes in all the doors have been treated with frosted vinyl decals. The frosting allows for excellent privacy, without darkening the rooms or offices. As you may note, the vinyl decals that have been chosen are predominantly frosted with only the design element being transparent. In the dark winter months when it is necessary to switch the lights on, the frosted vinyl would maintain a high level of privacy even with bright artificial lights shining through.

To achieve a green operation this law firm has looked for ways in which to minimise their carbon footprint.

It has become apparent that all businesses must pay attention to minimising their carbon footprint. Therefore, this law firm chose to use the vinyl decals as a means of using less artificial lighting in their office. The frosted vinyl decals preserve up to 93% of natural light, diminishing the need for switching on the lights during the daytime. This has cut down their electricity bill and given them a clean conscience for behaving in an environmentally friendly manner.
