Our favourite installation of the week features frosted window vinyl decals being used to create insulated glass windows.
The application of vinyl frosting results in insulated glass windows because a layer of vinyl film helps slow the transfer of heat through glass. Insulated glass windows are a great addition to any home as they function as wonderful energy saving tools. The reason for this is because insulated glass windows keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy that would otherwise have been spent on air conditioning and heating. This means that energy efficient windows aren’t just good for the environment; they save you money too.
Luckily, when it comes to installing insulated glass windows, there’s no need to sacrifice style. Frosted window vinyl not only makes glass more energy efficient, it also adds a beautiful decorative touch.
Frosted vinyl decals can be cut into almost any design you desire. However, if you want insulated glass windows, you need to choose decal designs that cover most of your windows’ surfaces in frosting. This will ensure that your windows are properly insulated.
In the installation pictured here, vinyl frosting covers almost the entire surface of the glass. Slim lines have been used to create an attractive design, so that only a very small amount of glass has been left transparent. The end result is energy efficient windows that are beautiful to look at.
