Here’s one of our favourite jobs from this past week.
This bathroom is in a beautiful modern home and has two big windows above the bath. The owners love the big windows but wanted a little more privacy from their neighbours, so they chose to install this great window film design.
This is a very contemporary home and the occupants are upbeat, creative individuals. Instead of simply making the entire pane opaque, they wanted a fresh but simple design that would reflect their offbeat décor sense. This retro-inspired ring design is simple, clean and hints at bubbles – perfect for a window above this luxurious bath. This decorative window film design has not only given this bathroom privacy, it has also transformed the windows into contemporary decorative pieces that add to the feel of the entire room. From the outside, the design also adds pleasant detail while shielding the occupants from view.
The walls in this bathroom are painted with dark orange stripes, making the room slightly darker than it would have been had all the walls been plain white. Because of this, the owners didn’t want to sacrifice any natural light. Window film is a great solution for them, as the level of opacity ensures privacy but still allows natural light into the bathroom. If the owners had opted for blinds, natural light would have been sacrificed.
Bathrooms windows often steam up when you’re taking a long, hot bath, especially when they’re positioned directly above the bath. However, because window film doesn’t go see-through when wet, there’s no risk of this window becoming transparent.
We think that the design looks great and is the perfect choice for this room. If the owners ever tire of the design, however, they will be able to peel the window film off and replace it with a new design.
